Reconnect With Yourself. Explore Embodiment.

It is my passion to help individuals connect back to themselves. To be embodied. For a host of different reasons, we have been conditioned or have learned to disconnect from our bodies and not trust what they are trying to tell us. However, one of my core beliefs is that our bodies are powerful and wise and the place where healing can flourish. When we slow down and listen, we can access information and a deeper level of understanding.

Humans are resilient. Life is never stagnant, nor is it simple, easy or predictable. In the face of adversity, pain, discomfort, oppression or unpredictability, individuals will persevere, adapt and grow. Seeking support and connection during these times, or reflecting on them after the fact can create space for deeper understanding, integration, and ultimately personal growth and healing.

About Me

Canadian Certified Counsellor

I was born and raised in the Land of the Midnight Sun, Whitehorse Yukon, however, I consider myself lucky to call Calgary home. I hold a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Adler University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology from the University of Alberta. I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.

My Approach

I am strongly informed by client-centred, strength-based and feminist approaches while utilizing a trauma-informed lens to create a safe environment for you to connect to your inner wisdom. Other frameworks include Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Attachment Theory, integrated with somatic and body-oriented approaches and techniques.

My Process

What you can expect when we work together is a deep respect for where you are at in your journey.  It is my hope we can work together to uncover a deeper understanding of yourself, while implementing techniques and insight into your counselling experience, which you can utilize beyond our time together.

Unique Framework

In addition to trauma informed counselling and an integrative approach of therapeutic and somatic modalities, I am a trauma informed yoga instructor and registered with Yoga Alliance. Upon request, we can work together to integrate yoga, breathwork, mindfulness, meditation, relaxation techniques and movement into our counselling sessions.

Land acknowledgement

I would like to acknowledge that we are gathered on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprising the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai First Nations) as well as the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley First Nations); and Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3. The traditional Blackfoot name of this place is “Mohkinstsis”, which is also known now as the City of Calgary.
